Blam!

How about this for delivery?
Firework paintings by Rosemary Fiore.
She lights a roman candle under a jar and places it on the paper(?)

Amazing, but oddly frustrating, like a stifled sneeze or flower put under a pot

Steel Steeds

Trusty Steeds...
-Onion panniers...for those endurance onion rides
-the story of 'Major' Taylor is worth reading. It seems many champion cyclists have tragic stories... this one full of adversity! You can get replica Major Taylor-style handlebars from Soma. Yes please!
-yikes! dig the no-reach head stem and nice drop-'tache bars...but 'she' is menacing! Marketing is funny- bicycle commerce has a significant history with broad implications...
-My hard-rubbish ffffound Malvern Star 'Two Star' is coming along... just need to choose a colour-scheme. I cant get past black enamel with brass details... but? Any ideas? I know you wont comment all you lurkers!
(pic credits coming...)

Vessel with a twist

1.I think this is Egyptian - made of Electrum, a native alloy of Gold/ and at least 20% Silver.
this is one of my most ¡favorite! pieces of silversmithing of all time! And very influential on my work, or more accurately, very reassuring/ affirming of my style. (British Museum)
2.Wirkkala- Scando goodness. via
3.Hiroshi Suzuki- his style doesnt really appeal to me, but he is a wonderful smith! via
4.Morandi. Well, I couldnt resist...

Lunar painting?

After yesterday's post, well, it really started me thinking about The Moon, which I dont generally do. I dont know if its a coincidence, but I realise that I treat Silver in a very 'Lunar' way, many of my pieces actually look like moon-maps, painted in a scumbled, wabi-sabi manner, with dark areas of impurity, score-marks etc. You know how the Moon has those dark areas, which seem to me to make it more velvety and mysteriously luminous...
Perhaps, subconsciously, Ive known that The Moon is the best white object, and Ive been trying to emulate it?

Moon=Silver

Some have said; Sun=Gold, Moon=Silver. Well there is a slight colour match, its true!
Still, what these things have in common is that they reflect or radiate a beauty that comes from a higher source...
I never thought of the moon as having colour! The moon is new to me!
I love that moon.
(not to spoil the poetry of what Ive said; but its the Earth's ultimate accessory! How good is it?? Austere, Mysterious, Grave ( as in gravitational) Bouyant, Luminous, Still, yet with Momentous Momentum
