Conversation in St Petersburg:
"What's the time, dear?"
"Err.......................................... hang on........................................ it's.............................."
As far as I can make out, the clock part is those, what shall I say, vestigial? numerals that appear on the toadstool down the bottom.
The crowing cockerel is very special, and the shimmery shim tail of the peacock; magnificent
-as it should be.

Barbara has seen this clock,

Hi Mal,
ReplyDeleteWow... Barbra is well-travelled!
Has she seen the swan too I wonder? At the Bowe Museum- somewhere in northern England?

well travelled looking at 16th C jewellery via an OzCo grant . . .
ReplyDeletealthough her father was posted to London in the old National Bank of Australia, so living in Surrey and holidaying in Europe and USA was a blast - Denmark jewellers at age 9 and Spratling and Tacso at 11 is a great eye opener eh
Barb ponders that the Bowe is in Oxford, maybe? We will check .. and report.
